KEVAthinks - Beneath The Thought
We were walking Diamond the other day and I snapped this pic. I noticed that while we were on our normal path, there was a cat sitting on a porch. Diamond was not barking at the cat or her kittens.
Now this is a dog that will bark at the largest dog that she sees and will not back down, lol.
Then I thought to myself, she isn't barking because of the experience that she has with cats.
Diamond was a surrogate mother to a kitten that we had taken in some time ago. So her encounter with a cat is no longer something that would "normally" be a confrontational situation.
She is going on her experience as a dog that loves cats so the cat on the porch and her kittens were not a threat.
We can all learn from Diamond that we can be loving toward those that are "supposed" to be our enemies.
We can start by getting to know someone that is seemingly different from us.
We may find out that we really aren't that different.
Perceptions/Prejudices can change with our intentional open-minded experiences with one another. #BeTheChange
